Zaha Hadid Architects Joins Forces with Rossinavi to create the Electric Yacht Oneiric

Rossinavi and Zaha Hadid Architects worked on a revolutionary catamaran design. Oneiric is the Italian shipyard’s green technology flagship, including three layers of solar panels to provide all-electric navigation and an artificial intelligence-driven control center to reduce environmental impact and manage energy use. A prototype of the undulating shape of the Oneiric catamaran could be powered entirely by solar panels. On a single-day trip, the Oneiric can run in emission-free, all-electric mode 100 percent of the time. On transatlantic cruises, the yacht can operate in all-electric mode up to 70 percent of the time, saving more than 40 tons of carbon dioxide compared to a conventional vessel. The solar panels, which continuously charge the battery pack during the daytime, are also designed for when the boat is not in use and can provide electricity to a land-based family residence when moored.

The exterior and interior design of the boat is inspired by the movement of the waves. The cockpit on the main deck is a veranda with slightly bent walls and ceiling to provide an organic continuity that greatly enhances the ocean view. Swimming platforms on the lower level expand, lifting the walls and ceiling, providing a direct connection to the water.

The boat features multiple indoor and outdoor lounges and dining rooms, an attractive cinema room with entertainment technology, a spacious owner’s bedroom and four guest cabins. The master bedroom has a 180-degree view and skylights that allow light to enter from above. The owner’s cabin has direct access to the front open saloon area, which can be protected by retractable structures as the yacht’s interiors are interconnected.

In full electric mode, the boat can run silently. Rossinavi Zero Noise technology isolates all built-in noise at its source.
