Stephen Silver is a gemologist, geologist, diamantaire, and philanthropist based in Silicon Valley. Silver’s ability to cut diamonds and colored gemstones and create jewellery has earned him a reputation among world-class jewelery industry connections and top gemstone collectors over the past four decades. Silver moved to the San Francisco Bay Area after completing his geology studies at San Diego State University and earning a Master of Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America to start a real estate jewelry business focused on antiques and gemstones. There, he gained access to some of the most important colored stones in history, such as the famous Cullinan Blue Diamond necklace, which he later bought and donated to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
