MB&F’s FlyingT with Golden Tiger Eye Dial

The Legacy Machine FlyingT is the first three-dimensional horological watch for women introduced by MB&F in 2019. The watch was originally offered in three white gold versions with diamonds: black lacquered dial plate with brilliant-cut diamond set case, dial plate and case both fully set with brilliant-cut diamonds, and dial plate and case both fully set with baguette-cut diamonds.

Later, other variants were introduced to the FlyingT series, including a model in 18K rose gold or platinum, with a guilloche dial plate but no diamonds; Three-diamond set edition with gemstone dial plate: 18K white gold case with lapis lazuli dial plate and 18K white gold with malachite dial plate. MB&F’s latest offering is the Legacy Machine FlyingT Tiger Eye, which features a tiger eye dial and a diamond-studded case.

As with previous LM FlyingT models, the new MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT Tiger Eye case measures 38.5mm in diameter. It has a sharp cambered bezel and long, slender lugs set with diamonds. A high, exaggeratedly convex sapphire crystal dome rises from the frame. Below the dome is a finely bent dial plate made of tiger eye.

A dial plate with asymmetrical ventricular opening frames a flying tourbillon that oscillates at a calm 2.5 Hz (18,000vph). The tourbillon protrudes above the rest of the engine as a kinetic, dynamic pillar that ends just below the apex of the sapphire crystal dome. A single large diamond is affixed to the top of the upper tourbillon cage and rotates with the flying tourbillon.
At the 7 o’clock position, the tiger-eye dial shows the hours and minutes with a pair of snake-like hands. The dial tilts at a 50 degree angle so only the user can read the time.

At the back, the automatic winding rotor is designed like a red-gold sun with sculpted rays.

LM FlyingT was inspired by Maximilian Büsser’s reflections on the important roles women play in their lives. Released in 2019, it exudes a rich and sophisticated femininity, choosing to exemplify elegance and vitality above softer feminine standards.
